Lake Erie is the smallest of the Great Lakes in volume (119 cubic miles) and has had the greatest effects from urbanization and agriculture. Measuring 241 miles across and 57 miles from north to south, the lake's surface is just under 10,000 square miles, with 871 miles of shoreline. The average depth of Lake Erie is only about 62 feet (210 feet, maximum). It therefore warms rapidly in the spring and summer, and frequently freezes over in winter. The drainage basin covers parts of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Ontario. Because of its fertile soils, the basin is intensively farmed and is the most densely populated of the five Great Lake basins. Lake Erie is home to one of the world's largest freshwater commercial fisheries. Once a mainstay of communities around the lake, commercial fishing is now predominantly based on the Canadian side of the lake. A much smaller fishery, largely restricted to yellow perch, is on the Ohio side. Still, the commercial fishery is the target of critics who would like to see the lake managed for the exclusive benefit of sport fishing and the various industries serving the sport fishery.

Landings are dominated by yellow perch and walleye, with substantial quantities of rainbow smelt and white bass also taken. Anglers target walleye and yellow perch, with some effort directed on rainbow trout. A variety of other species are taken in smaller quantities by sport fleets.

  • Lakewood Ohio - Cuyahoga County Commissioners Reef, 1984 Experimental Site A, 1984 Experimental Site B
  • Cleveland Stadium Artifical Reef - Edgewater West Reef #1, Edgewater West Reef #2, Euclid East Reef

Items you will need to bring for your charter.

  • Valid Ohio Fishing License
  • Weather Appropriate Clothing
  • Rain Gear
  • Food & Beverage (Beer in cans, no glass or hard liquor please)
  • Motion Sickness Medicine (if needed)
  • Sunglasses, Hat, Suntan Lotion
  • Camera (disposable recommended)
  • Soft-soled Shoes (with a non-marking sole please)
  • Cooler & Ice to take your catch home

We offer Morning, Day, Twilight, and Night charters. If you have a special request for your starting time, we are willing to work with you. If you limit early we will fish for a different specie or do what ever you want. If it is a slow day for some unknown reason, we may keep you out longer!

Full Day - Perch Charter
6 person or less - $290.00 (6 hours or limit 30 perch per angler)
Full Day - Perch and Smallmouth Bass Combination
6 person or less - $390.00 (8 hours - Limit of 5 Bass and 30 Perch per angler)
Walleye and Steelhead Charter
Full-Day 6 person or less prefer 4 charter (8 hour) - $550.00
Half-Day 6 person or less prefer 4 charter (5 hour) - $475.00 (Limit 6 walleye after May 1'st and 5 Steelhead per angler after May 16th)
Catfish Charter
3 persons or less - $250.00 (from 7p.m. to 1 a.m.)

ALL NIGHT CATFISH TRIPS:

  • Mosquito Lake 250.00 1 or 2 persons.

    • I will now schedule Evening trips during the week so anglers can go after work and still get rested for the next day. Call for the hours you would like that fits your needs. Short runs will be discounted.

    Pricing and Cancellation and Other Policies

    A 150.00 deposit is required for all reservations.
    Pre-Paid in full reservations will get another 10% off!
    All cancellations are to be made at least 30 days in advance of reservation date or all deposits will be forfeited.
    Pre-paid in full reservations will be refunded minus the 150.00.
    Cancellations of Charter due to weather conditions or any other reasons are the Captains discretion. In such an event, another date will be offered. Due to fuel price changes beyond our control, prices may change out notice. To insure the lowest price for your charter, book your charter as early as possible.
