The founders of Fishers of Men Pro Team have been involved in fishing many saltwater tournaments and plan on fishing Lake Erie Tournaments. We are proud of what we have accomplished in the past however none of that means anything if we don't use the knowledge and understanding of those experiences provided us to make your day on the Lake or Ocean a successful fishing experience. Our most important objective when we are fishing with you (in addition to your safety) is to help you have a great day on the Lake or Ocean and to accomplish your objectives whether that is bending rods and catching fish or trying to catch a new record.
Whether you are a serious tournament fisherman, a family, a group of friends looking for a special day to remember, or you want to catch your first fish, fishing with the Captains and crews of the Fishers of Men Pro Team is the right choice. Our objective is to always make your charter safe, enjoyable and a memorable quality fishing experience.
All of the Captains who operate boats in our fleet are very experienced fishermen who are committed to working hard to assure their customers have a great day of fishing. Each Captain is USCG licensed, and are participants in a random drug testing program and is committed to our stringent requirements.
Fishing is a funny game. Some days anyone can go into the Lake or Ocean,
drag baits and catch fish, the bite is on! Other days catching fish is more of a challenge, these are the days when years of experience and local knowledge enable our Captains to recognize what is happening and know what changes to make to give their customers the best opportunity to catch quality fish.
When you fish with the Fishers of Men Pro Team, you will quickly see the quality of the boat and equipment we use, the attention to detail in our preparation for your day of fishing along with the dedication our Captains have to providing you with a quality fishing
experience.
All participants in the Fishers of Men Team Fleet must meet our stringent criteria that includes the professionalism of the Captains and crew, utilization of quality fishing tackle, a clean and well maintained vessel, affordable charter rates, extensive fishing experience and their commitment to make your day of fishing a quality fishing experience.
To help insure your safety all of our Captains have CPR and First Aid.
As a Captain my job is not just to put you on the fish, but to find the fish that are actively feeding. Lake Erie is a big lake and finding the right area to fish is a process that starts before and continues during the charter. Each day the area with the best bite can change and I study the preferred currents, temperatures, contours, feed, water clarity& and I'm fortunate to work with other good Captains who share information on fishing conditions and locations.
Working together allows us to spread out and fish a larger area along with the finest electronics. Together we can find the right depth, count, lure type, and colors that work the best. I'm thankful that I can share my fishing time with others who enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks for taking the time to explore our website and I look forward to seeing you on board and wetting a line or two.
Many of you that read this have already gone on a charter or two, and many of you have not had the experience that you thought you would receive. There are 2 things that I cannot control, one is the weather and the other is your end of the rod. However if both of those are good then you will have a great time.
So many Captains now go at charters only for the money, (you know the business end). They leave the dock at 6am give you 7 or tops 8 hours fishing (as they say dock to dock), and will even try to run double daily trips. have one customer a day and YOURE that customer! I will keep you out longer if necessary and when a limit is full we can fish for another species. The only thing I look over my shoulder for is the weather.
My job starts with your safety, and ends with your full satisfaction, just what does it cover?
Opening safety talk (jackets, first-aid kit, flares, rain gear, dock lines).
Make sure the boat is ready to go, (gas, pumps, nets, rod holders, wipers, horn and lights).
Make sure that all electronics are working.
Provide coolers and ice.
Providing all your tackle needs.
Providing all the bait (clean it if needed) and put it on your hook if needed.
Netting your fish or teaching you how to properly net.
Finding the right place to fish (safe& biting fish).
Providing you with fishing information (depth, temperature, color, wind).
Provide or help you with the food and drink.
On a sleep over, provide for you or find you a place to stay.
Fix any entanglements that you may get into.
Tell lots of stories and have lots of fun.
If I fail to cover any of these areas your trip will not end the way you wanted it to. So we'll let God handle the weather, let you handle the rods, and we'll handle the rest.
Matt 4:19 "And he saith unto them, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men".
Sincerely,
Captains Van Burnett, Aaron Burnett and Joe (Hal) Carter.
